Maintenance Mechanic

• Job Type: Full-time, 90-day probationary period
• Must possess own hand tools; specialty tools will be provided. Duties:
  • Good interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair/owner manuals, engineering specifications and parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Maintenance on processing equipment, pipe fitting, welding, fabrication, carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installation of equipment.
  • Adjust and repair packaging equipment as needed.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on all equipment.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Interface with Operations to minimize downtime and maximize plant reliability.
  • Work with both Outside Contractors and Plant Operations to ensure all maintenance activities are completed in a safe and efficient manner. Requirements:
    • Candidates must be 18 years or older with the ability to read and speak English for safety purposes.
    • High School diploma or GED preferred
    • 2+ years of relevant industrial maintenance experience required.
    • Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge.
    • Experience with PLCs and ammonia refrigeration a plus. Qualifications/Physical Requirements:
      • Ability to lift, push, pull product weighing up to fifty pounds out of confined spaces and occasionally having to lift product overhead.
      • Ability to stand, kneel and climb ladders and other physical requirements as needed.
      • Must be able to pass a post-offer hair drug test, alcohol screening and physical exam.
