Our Rooms Division & Front Desk Internship puts you at the center of hotel operations — from guest check-ins to housekeeping coordination. You’ll gain hands-on experience, learn hotel systems, and develop the skills needed to deliver exceptional guest service in a full-service hotel environment. What You’ll Learn: Front desk operations: check-in/out, reservations, and guest relations Guest services and concierge functions Coordination between housekeeping, engineering, and front office Basics of revenue management, scheduling, and service recovery Leadership exposure and professional project presentation Program Highlights: Rotations through front desk, guest services, and housekeeping Hands-on training with hotel systems and brand standards Weekly mentorship check-ins and skill-building sessions Final project presented to department leadership Certificate of completion and eligibility for future opportunities Perks: Real-world hotel experience with a leading hospitality brand Opportunities to network with industry professionals Potential for continued employment post-internship What We’re Looking For: Hospitality, business, or related major (or strong interest in hotel operations) Excellent communication and customer service skills Professional appearance and punctuality Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings/weekends Skills & Attributes: Professional, friendly, and service-oriented demeanor. Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities. Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented. Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn and accept feedback in a professional setting. Physical Requirements: Frequently move through different hotel areas to support guest and operational needs. Occasional reaching, positioning, or transporting items (typically up to 25 lbs.) may be part of daily tasks. Must be able to effectively engage with guests and team members in person and across various work areas. Flexibility to work a variety of schedules, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed. Requirements: Currently enrolled in (or recent graduate of) a Hospitality Management, Business, or related degree program. Basic understanding of customer service principles or prior guest service experience preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office; experience with hotel systems a plus). Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings are required. Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with Crowne Plaza Lansing rules and regulations for the safe and effective operations of the Hotel’s facilities. Associates who violate Hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including, separation.
