Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Kalamazoo, MI Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,136 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/9/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years in PCU/Stepdown License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS, ONCC or ONS (pending accepted) Must-Have: - ONCC or ONS certification required, will accept either. - Must have experience administering chemotherapy via IV and starting IVs. Description: The unit is a step-down unit that cares for general medical and oncology step-down patients. The nurse will be responsible for administering chemotherapy via IV. The equipment used includes vital sign towers, IV pumps, and electronic documentation systems. The nurse to patient ratio is typically 1:4-6, with support staff available if ratios increase. Charge nurses are generally not assigned patient duties. Chemo admissions may decrease assignment ratios. Block scheduling may be accommodated upon request. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. The clinician can request additional days through self-scheduling. Nurses must be available during the first two weeks of the assignment. Any requests for time off after acceptance of an offer should be discussed with management. Patients served include adults and geriatrics, with a daily census of around 29. Diagnoses treated include sepsis, renal failure, respiratory failure, cancer, heart failure, DKA, and diabetes. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services. Special procedures performed include chemotherapy administration and CAPD.
