JOB DUTIES The Weatherization Shell Crew Technician is responsible for assisting the installation of residential energy conservation measures and health and safety repairs specified in the work scope. Activities will include but are not limited to air sealing the house envelope, installing and repairing air and ventilation ducts, installing crawl space vapor barrier, preparing attics for insulation, and installing light bulbs and smoke alarms. He or she is responsible for interacting with the client and crew personnel in a responsive and professional manner and stewarding materials on the job site in a safe and effective manner. The Technician is responsible for assisting with the site assessment prior to the installation of measures, recognizing and reporting concerns to the Crew Leader, assisting with diagnostic testing, and supporting the quality control process. _______________________________________________________________________ SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Possess strong manual dexterity, visual, and observation skills. Possess strong auditory, written, and verbal skills to communicate clearly with clients, staff, contractors and the public. Able to have the ability to wear PPE including but not limited to a respirator and Tyvek suit. Able to operate hand tools, power tools, and keyboard. Able to climb ladders and mount and dismount roofs and attic access points from ladders. Able to lift, carry and move 50 pounds in all directions. Able to handle heavy work involving stooping, crawling, bending, lifting, standing, sitting, and working in tight and undesirable spaces. Able to enter and work in attics and crawl spaces. Able to work in extreme temperatures. High School Diploma or GED required. Able to quickly develop a thorough understanding of basic community action concepts, and the numerous regulations governing agency operations and programs. Able to relate well with diverse personalities from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. High comfort level with public interaction. When driving for Brightpoint, the employee must have a valid Indiana driver's license and must maintain minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 on auto insurance
