Position SummaryAcuren is seeking an Integrity Engineer to serve
our clients in the pipeline integrity management space, supporting
our operations in Grand Rapids, MI.ResponsibilitiesThe Integrity
Engineer will be responsible for representing the firm in
interactions with clients, contractors, and other project team
members. Core responsibilities include managing projects and
programs for clients, preparing reports and specifications, and
providing a high level of technical consulting. The Integrity
Engineer is responsible to:
- Work cross functionally within the Integrity Team and with
other Acuren teams.
- Help develop and/or refine tools for internal and client
use.
- Support client integrity management activities.
- Consult on and manage client Integrity Management Program (IMP)
requirements.
- Coordinate with multiple stakeholder groups, including
integrity, corrosion, operations, control center, and Graphic
Information System (GIS), to facilitate efficient implementation of
client IMPs.
- Document IMP-related decisions, philosophies, and results.
- Develop and maintain integrity assessment schedules.
- Screen for and identify integrity threats.
- Coordinate ILI bid packages, bid evaluation, and vendor
selection and award.
- Perform project management duties for in-line inspections and
other integrity assessment projects such as direct assessments and
pressure tests. Work with service providers to address issues.
- Gather, integrate, analyze, and report pipeline integrity data,
including ILI data. Produce repair plans.
- Steward repair plans and manage digs, inspections, and repairs.
Perform feature assessments and specify repair methods. Communicate
and coordinate repair activities.
- Perform risk analyses. Evaluate preventive and mitigative
measures.
- Advise design and construction teams on best practices to
support long-term operation, assessment, and maintenance of newly
installed or retrofitted facilities.
- Participate in business development activities, including trade
organizations and events.
- Maintain detailed time and expense records for billing
purposes.RequirementsEducation, Experience, and Training
- Bachelor's Degree in related engineering field, P.E.
preferred.
- 10+ years of pipeline operations and integrity management
experience, including field engineering and project management
responsibilities.
- Previous training and experience in pipe coating selection and
specification, corrosion mechanisms, welding engineering, feature
analysis, and repair methods preferred.Technical Knowledge and
Skills
- Knowledge of pipeline operations, design, and repair; corrosion
control; pipeline engineering assessments and fitness for service
evaluations; risk assessment and management.
- Understanding of applicable codes and regulations such as 49
CFR Parts 192 and 195, API RP 1188, API BULL 1178, API RP 1160, API
RP 1176, NACE RP 0102, ASME B31.8S, and Texas Administrative Code
Rule 8.101.
- Previous python experience is preferred. Experience with other
programming languages and an ability to gain proficiency in Python
required. Deep knowledge of Excel required.
- Ability to use or learn various GIS tools.
- Capable of understanding and implementing complex processes,
procedures, and plans and overseeing their execution.
- Able to understand and comply with complex requirements for
various tasks such as inspection, analysis, documentation,
procurement, and safety.Professional Skills
- Self-starter and self-motivator with the ability to perform
effectively with minimal supervision, assuming the presence of
purpose, autonomy, and relationships.
- Strategic and curious thinker.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Able to
communicate clearly with other people of diverse backgrounds.
Ability to comfortably facilitate meetings.
- Computer literate and proficient in the use of the Microsoft
Office suite, with high proficiency in Excel, Word, and
PowerPoint.Other
- Available for travel in the form of both day trips and
overnights. Employee should have a personal vehicle available for
business travel when required, typically less than 10% of the
year.
- Participate in company drug and alcohol testing program
(pre-employment, random, reasonable cause, and post-incident
testing conducted per USDOT requirements); negative test results
