Job Description Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1 years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time Special Education teaching opportunity is available at a K-12 school located in Ypsilanti, MI. The contract position runs through the current school year, starting immediately and extending through June 5, 2026. This role provides a unique chance to work across multiple grade levels with a specialized caseload focused on students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Communication Impairment (CI). Key responsibilities include: - Delivering specialized instruction and support in ASD and CI classrooms - Managing caseloads across elementary grade levels, including 1-2nd/3rd grade and 4th/5th grade classrooms - Creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs - Collaborating with educators, families, and support staff to promote student success - Maintaining an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that fosters skill development Qualifications: - Valid and active Michigan Special Education license with certification in Communication Impairment (CI) or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) - Experience working with elementary-aged students in special education settings, preferably within ASD or CI classrooms - Strong understanding of special education practices, behavior management, and individualized instruction - Ability to manage multiple classrooms and caseloads effectively - Excellent communication and collaboration skills Location: Ypsilanti, MI Job Type: Full-Time Contract through June 5, 2026 This position offers the chance to make a significant difference in the lives of students with specialized needs in a supportive educational environment.
